Momentum Mori,

Two weeks into the Lich King expansion, most of us hit or are about to hit 80, finally Tongue out. As most of you know pre-wotlk we asked to apply for the 25 men raid team so we could make a setup for it. While loads applied some had to reroll from their previous preffered specs or classes. Some of you did not even reply to the forum post. Making a long story short, we have too many players. Period.

We as officers can be complete assholes, bu not this time around. We want as much of you guys to experience the offered content and came with a plan. And this plan is as follows.

Wednesday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, like in the past these will be our main raid days. And we will stick to those. We will use the calendar in-game to plan our raids, where we go and allow all ranked raidmembers to sign up. We will completely fill up the raid with all that signed. From then on we choose who goes and who not. Either rolling, passing or rotation wise. The players that have to go out of the 25 men, still have a shot to raid. This will be the 10 men version of that specific instance. So 9 shut out players and 1 officer, to lead the raid, will go on a 10 men. The officer is bound to finish the 10 men, since he is the only one saved and the other 9 have a go the next raid day in the 25 men content. Untill the 10 men instance is cleared, the officer is going to the 25 men aswell, and another officer goes for another 10 men instance.

This system has a couple of great plusses:

  • Everybody gets to gear up. An upgrade is an upgrade.
  • We have a bigger pool of well geared players to select our 25 men team from.
  • You will see the real basic layout of every encounter in the 10 men, to perform way better in the 25 men, cause you have seen the encounter already.
  • You will earn your regular standby dkp while raiding 10 men.
  • You wont spend dkp in the 10 men.
  • There are 10 men on standby in case 1 in the 25 has to go out. So 25 > all. (which leaves the 10 men with achievements to do)
  • We are able to keep this up a long time, because all the content that is going to be released has a 10 and 25 men version
  • We can stop immediatly if the raid hype comes to an end, and we lack the players to fill the gaps for the 10 men, unless Guildmember and Friend ranked players can fill up the gaps.
    • Raidmember ranked > Guildmember and Friend ranked. So if we do not have enough raiders for the 10 men, we select from those pools.

This idea was created yesterday and quickly ran through with all officers. There might be some flaws and things we did not think about yet. These things will come in time. But for now we have the ability to offer 35 spots instead of 25. Which is a huge step already.

Some additional notes on this:

  •  This system requires some flexibility from everyone in the guild. Officers and Members. Talk to eachother before a raid about which bosses you need and the other person in your class might need, so wether you pass or the player. So we can setup both raids real quick.
  • If there is going to be a hassle among a class, then the raidleader will ask you to roll and lowest roller is out. And automatically put to the 10 men. This teaming should go as fast as possible and should not become an obstacle pre-raids. So help out and already decide before the raid who goes 25 and who goes 10. Officers will fix this aswell pre-raid so he can start invites for the 10 mens straight away.
  • Tank wise, for now we will have either Dommi or Valon rerolling tank for the 10 men. In the future once Dreamzz has fixed some gear to be defense capped he can be there aswell and/or take over the rerolling of Valon and Dommi.
  • With the leaving of Riia, a holy paladin, all heal spots seem to be filled quite well, allthough there is a bit of extra priests.
  • Melee dps seems to be greatso far.
  • Ranged dps seems to be in order aswell.
  • In case there are respecs needed, we will contact you personally and talk about it. If you want it and what spec. Either Wabi or Me will do that.
  • When everybody has hit 80 we probably have still many members benched even with a 10 men. That is a future thing and most likely all of our raid attendancy will drop over time once all the content is familiar. So we have to see how that will turn out.

I hope this idea will remove some unclear things for all of you and we tried to get everybody in, as it looks now we have did a good job. Only time will tell.

One more thing. if things are unclear about certain stuff ask the officers, andnot stop guessing. I heard the craziest things the last couple of days. So just ask! Laughing

Hopefully this is clear, add a comment below with questions or start a topic in the raiding section on the topic.
